PLURAL / A LITTLE HELP GETTING STARTED.
A little help getting started.
Your first take
- Open Plural on Windows or Android. For SmartMike+ microphones, pair them in your device’s Bluetooth settings first.
- Connect your SmartMike+ mics in Plural, or choose Add a microphone from the menu for a built-in, USB or wired mic.
- Check that each mic shows a live level. Press Record to start them together, and press it again to stop.
- Open Takes to listen, rename or share your recording.
Choose your download
Get the latest release. Choose the Windows package for your computer, or the Android APK for your phone. Android may ask you to allow installation from the browser or file manager you used to open it.
Windows 10 and 11 and Android 8.0 or newer are supported. Mac builds are experimental and have not been tested on Mac hardware. iPhone and iPad support is still in development.
A mic is not showing up
SmartMike+ mics must be paired in your system’s Bluetooth settings before Plural can find them. Make sure the mic is switched on and not connected to another phone or computer.
For other microphones, check your device’s microphone permissions and that the mic appears in its sound settings. Windows can record multiple local inputs. Android often allows only one local input device at a time; Bluetooth headset capture is device-dependent.
Record with another device
Open Plural on both devices. Choose Record with other devices in the menu, search for the other device, and approve the connection there. One device can then start and stop the take for both. Keep both devices connected while the files are collected. Wi-Fi is usually much faster than Bluetooth for video transfers.
Use your files elsewhere
Choose WAV, M4A or MP3 for a file per mic. MKA, MKV and MP4 can hold multiple tracks in one file. Not every editor exposes every audio track in a multi-track file, so separate WAV files are a practical starting point for audio editing.
Still need a hand?
Report a problem or ask a question. Include your device, operating system, microphones and what happened. Do not attach private recordings or personal information to a public issue.
Plural is an independent app, not a Sabinetek product.
