Privacy

This website

The Plural website does not use analytics, tracking scripts or cookies. Fonts and images are served with the site rather than loaded from third-party services.

If you choose a Light or Dark appearance, the website remembers that preference in your browser’s local storage. Selecting System clears the saved choice and follows your device’s appearance setting. This preference is not sent to a server.

The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. The hosting provider receives information needed to serve web requests, such as your IP address. See GitHub’s privacy statement for its practices.

Your recordings

Plural saves recordings on the device you use to record. When you connect another Plural device for a shared take, that device asks you to approve remote control. Recorded files are then transferred to the controlling device over the connection between them.

Sharing a take sends it to the app or destination you choose. That destination has its own privacy practices. Check your recordings before sharing them, and get permission from the people you record.

Device permissions

Plural needs microphone access to record audio, Bluetooth access to connect supported microphones and devices, and camera access when you record video. Android also uses a recording notification for background recording. Available permissions vary by platform.

Support and downloads

Downloads, source code and support issues are hosted on GitHub. Opening those links takes you to GitHub, where its privacy statement applies. Support issues are public, so please do not include private recordings, passwords or personal details.
